With an inter-disciplinary team drawing on expertise in media sociology, urban geography, digital technology in education and film, Goldsmiths take the lead in investigating societal trends and impacts.

Coordinating digital workshops, community debates and public exhibitions to interact with the wider Salford community while construction of the MediaCityUK development was still underway, their findings have led to the development of the Storycircle project, which is now continuing with funding from the UK Research Councils Digital Economy Programme, engaging with several partners and stimulating spin off activity.
